BENTON, Mo. -- Jerome Ervin Bucher, 67, of Benton died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 13, 1937, at New Hamburg, Mo., son of Cletus and Clara Gosche Bucher. He and Shirley Ann Halter were married Aug. 30, 1958, at Benton.
Bucher was a farmer and had also worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. and in the laundry department at Saint Francis. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton and Knights of Columbus Council 4311 in Oran, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Richard Bucher of Carlisle, Pa., Gary Bucher of Chicago, Roger Bucher of Leopold, Mo., Kevin Bucher of Sedalia, Mo.; three daughters, Gaylene McMillan of Cape Girardeau, Cathy Rainey of Dexter, Mo., Amy Woods of Marble Hill, Mo.; three sisters, Vernita Schott, Georgie Kielhofner and Rose Pobst, all of Oran; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 6:30, followed by Knights of Columbus service at 6:40.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Denis Church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery.
