Jerome Browne
Jerome Dent Browne, 87, of Scott City died Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Monday, July 4, 1921, in Blytheville, Ark, son of Edward and Esther Browne. He and Evelyn Cruse were married April 11, 1953, at Desloge, Mo.
Dent was a graduate of Blythe­ville High School.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1945. He was a veteran of World War II. Dent had a long career in sales and retired while working at Browne's Upholstery in Scott City.
Dent was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include a son, E.J. Browne of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Kathy Browne of Scott City; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother.
A funeral service was held at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Entombment was at Maple Grove Cemetery in Blytheville.
