CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Jennye Lee Whitehead Wedeking, 70, of San Diego, Calif., and formerly of Charleston, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at Grossmont Hospital in San Diego.
She was born Nov. 3, 1933, at Adams, Tenn., the daughter of William C. and Lucy Pauline Farmer Whitehead. She married James Russell Wedeking.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Charleston.
She is survived by her husband; a son, David Wedeking of San Diego; a daughter, Chris Mendes of San Diego; nine brothers, Charles D. Whitehead of Jefferson City, Mo., William C. Whitehead Jr. of Emporia, Calif., Frank Russell Whitehead of Richmond, Va., Arthur Jesse Whitehead of Memphis, Tenn., George Irvin Whitehead of O'Lean, Mo., James F. Whitehead of Wyatt, Mo., and John David Whitehead, Benjamin A. Whitehead and Robert A. Whitehead, all of Charleston; two sisters, Carla Jo Knaup of Cape Girardeau and Nancy Risko of Stillwell, Minn.; and three grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a brother and a grandson.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
