Jennie Rastl

Jennie Lee Rastl, 81, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Jackson, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Aug. 5, 1930, at Oriole, to Omar and Louise Jane Kinnard Abernathy. She and Gene Roy Rastl were married Nov. 19, 1948. He died Aug. 18, 2004.

Jennie worked in the packaging department at International Shoe Co. in Jackson more than 40 years. She was a member of Iona Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Richard) Seyer; a granddaughter, Crystal (Brent) Reid; two great-granddaughters, Amber and Autumn, all of Jackson; a brother, Gilbert Abernathy of Peoria, Ill.; a sister, Rosa Farrow of Oriole.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Daniel Hale officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
