JACKSON -- Funeral service for Mrs. Jennie L. Bendel of Jackson will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home. The Rev. Walter Keisker will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Mrs. Bendel died Thursday, Feb. 14, 1991, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was 85.

She was born Sept. 28, 1905, daughter of Harry and Edith Manning Smith at Miller, S.D. She married William Bendel in 1936, who died in August 1966.

Mrs. Bendel was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid Association.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Diana Bendel of St. Charles; a brother, Lewis Smith of Spruce Pine, N.C., and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by a son.
