CHARLESTON -- Jennie French, 99, of Charleston died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Bertrand Nursing Facility.
She was born Feb. 6, 1901, at Charleston, daughter of E. Lindsay and Mollie Sikes Brown. She and Oliver B. French Sr. were married May 10, 1923. He died Feb. 10, 1985.
French lived in Charleston most of her life. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and involved with Builders Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of PEO and Molly French Garden Club.
Survivors include three sons, Frank French of Chapel Hill, N.C., Bob and Don French of Charleston; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, and three brothers.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Rick White will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 10 a.m. until service time.
