CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Jemorrio Antonio Betts, 20, of Charleston died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo., of a gunshot wound. He was born July 16, 1983, in Sikeston, son of William Henry and Mary Louise Parker Betts. Betts was a 2002 graduate of Charleston High School and played on the basketball team. CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Jemorrio Antonio Betts, 20, of Charleston died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo., of a gunshot wound.

He was born July 16, 1983, in Sikeston, son of William Henry and Mary Louise Parker Betts.

Betts was a 2002 graduate of Charleston High School and played on the basketball team. He attended Lane College in Jackson, Tenn., and was enrolled at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo.

Survivors include his parents; three brothers, Kevin Parker of Sikeston, William McCauley and Lonnie Lawrence of Chicago; two sisters, Patricia Tyus of Decatur, Ill., Denise Webster of Detroit, Mich.; maternal grandmother, Mary Parker of Sikeston; and maternal great-grandmother, Mary Williamson of Sikeston.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at Bowden Civic Center.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the center, with the Rev. Victor Williams officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Williams Funeral Home at Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
