Jeanette Nunziella Riley Niederkorn, 81, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully at home with her family Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007.
She was born March 25, 1926, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Charles and Rosina Ranzino Sapienza. She and Claude Riley were married Sept. 14, 1946. He died Dec. 19, 1988. She later married Henry Niederkorn May 29, 1993. He died April 28, 1995.
Niederkorn was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary to Post 63, VFW Auxiliary to Post 3838 and was a volunteer at Missouri Veterans Home.
She loved life and her family and her friends, enjoyed dancing and socializing with friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis (Dr. Paul) Spence of Cape Girardeau, Lisa (John) Beussink of Jackson, Patti (Joe) Cook of Cape Girardeau; a son, Michael (Sheila) Riley of Sterling, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a daughter, Cindy Riley; two brothers; a sister; and son-in-law, Jamie Pelts.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. with parish prayers at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Vincent de Paul Church Saturday at 9 a.m., with the Rev. Patrick Nwokoye officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Southeast Hospice.
