BELLEVILLE, Ill. -- Jeanette G. Elmore, 77, of Belleville, Ill., formerly of Puxico, Mo., died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Grand Court in Belleville.
She was born Jan. 23, 1924, at Puxico, daughter of Clayton and Lucy "Pearl" Maddox Smith. She and Glendon Elmore were married. He preceded her in death.
Elmore was a retired secretary for doctors Authur and Kenneth Knabb. She was a charter member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Springfield, Mo., and a member of Harmony White Shrine of Jerusalem Chapter 112 in Cahokia, Ill.
Survivors include two sisters, Lois Dudley of Cahokia, and Margie Nadine Barrett of Pontiac, Mich.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at noon Saturday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Tom Zych will officiate, with burial in West Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Bloomfield, Mo.
