Jean Sowers

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Jean D. Sowers, 58, of Mounds died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, at her home.

She was born April 25, 1943, in Arlington, Ky., daughter of John and Bessie Blackburn Felts. She married Chuck Sowers.

Sowers was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was keyboardist and a Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jeaninia Taylor and Shavona Isom of Mounds; a son, David Sowers of Camdenton, Mo.; a sister, Ramona Williams of Centralia, Ill.; and five grandsons.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Stephen Wolfe and F.M. Speakman officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery at Ullin, Ill.
