Jean Albert Rudert, 81, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at his home.
He was born March 4, 1919, son of Benjamin G. and Carolina L. LaCroix Rudert.
He married Wilda C. Yallaly July 17, 1947, in Cape Girardeau. She died Dec. 3, 1999.
He was a retired Linotype operator, having worked for 37 years for Missouri Litho & Printing Co.
He served in field artillery in the Army in Central Europe and the Rhineland during World War II. He was also a bugler
He was a member of American Legion Post 63 and St. Mary's Cathedral.
Survivors include a son, Ben G. Rudert of La Crescent, Minn.; a daughter, Mary Jean Giles of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Evelyn Wolfe of Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Fords & Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
