POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Jean Elizabeth McDannold, 85, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at her home.
Mrs. McDannold was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Hannibal, Mo.
She was a member of Park Methodist Church in Hannibal. She retired in 1983 from Hughes Aircraft in California. After retirement, Mrs. McDannold and her husband moved to Mountain Home, Ark., then Jonesboro, Ark., before settling in Poplar Bluff. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and flowers.
She and Eugene L. McDannold were married Aug. 15, 1946, in Atwood, Kan. He preceded her in death March 10, 2005.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana Stotler and husband Kenneth of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Kelly Mansfield and husband Stacy of Cape Girardeau, Lynette Benefield and husband Tim of Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Casey Benefield, Joslyn Mansfield and Kennedy Mansfield; a sister, Beverly Jones of Joplin, Mo.; and a nephew, Tom Jones of Joplin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Florence York; and a son, Jimmy McDannold.
The family will receive friends and relatives at 1 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Charles Buck officiating. Interment of Mrs. McDannold's ashes will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield at a later date.
