BENTON, Mo. -- Jean McCourt, 73, of Benton died Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 31, 1941, in East Prairie, Missouri, to Milton Elbert and Lois Eva Pinnon Jones. She married Dana Dempsey McCourt on May 16, 1964, in Rockford, Illinois.
Jean was a cashier at Boomland and a member of New Savannah Baptist Church in Blodgett, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband, Dana McCourt of the home; four daughters, Katherine Potts on Conroe, Texas, Lisa Mitchem of Sikeston, Missouri, Pamela McCourt of Crystal Lake, Wisconsin, and Crystal Gosche of Scott City; a brother, Bill Jones of East Prairie; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dana D. McCourt Jr.; a daughter, Karen Skaggs; and a brother.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Revs. Dennis Lowe and Kenneth Bollinger as officiants. Burial will be in Unity Baptist Cemetery.
