Joseph Dale "J.D." Schneier, 77, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born May 11, 1937, in Brazeau, Missouri, son of William J. and Alene M. Henderson Schneier. He and Jo Ellen Linebarger were married April 6, 1957, in Jackson.
J.D. graduated from Jackson High School in 1954. He was a member of the 140th infantry of the Jackson National Guard for six years and was a charter member of Cape County Sheriff Patrol. He worked for the former Spartech Plastics in Cape Girardeau, retiring after 35 years as a production control manager. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, the American Legion, Eagles Aerie and Elks Lodge, all in Cape Girardeau. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge in Mankato, Minnesota, and Texas, and the Kato Cycle Club in Mankato. J.D. was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he and Jo Ellen enjoyed traveling the contiguous United States.
Loving survivors include his wife of 57 years; three sons, Rick (Janet) Schneier of Wheeling, Illinois, William "Boob" Schneier and Scott Schneier of Mankato; two daughters, Vicky (George) Halverson of Hayfield, Minnesota, and Leslie (Robert) Boggs of West Jefferson, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no formal service.
