EAST PRAIRIE -- Graveside service for J.D. Coffer, East Prairie Route 2, was held Saturday at East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery, The Rev. Bruce White officiated, with Shelby Funeral Home here in charge of arrangements.
Coffer, 77, died Wednesday, July 3, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 30, 1913, in Smithland, Ky., son of George Daniel and Minnie Ethel Cobb Coffer.

Coffer moved to Mississippi County three years ago from Oklahoma.
Survivors include three sons, Darrel and Thomas Coffer of Lexington, Okla., Jimmy Coffer of Venice, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
