DUDLEY -- J.D. Barker, 74, of Dudley died Saturday, Aug. 30, 1997, at his home.
He was born Aug. 14, 1923, in Dexter. On Sept. 6, 1945, he married Ruth Ann Taylor in Piggott, Ark.
He owned and operated Barker's Salvage in Dudley.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Vonnie Holden of Dudley and Diann Simonis of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were Monday at the Rainey Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. T.R. Meadows and the Rev. Kent Miller officiating. He was buried in Dudley Cemetery.
