BLOOMFIELD -- J.C. Singleton, 74, of Bloomfield died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.
He was born Jan. 16, 1924, in Leachville, Ark., son of John Wiley and Melvina Singleton. He and Lillian Jordan were married June 28, 1947, in Piggott, Ark.
Singleton had lived in the Aid community 48 years, moving there from Kennett. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dennis Singleton of Bloomfield, Keith Singleton of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a daughter, Kelly Kincade of Jackson; a brother, W.R. Singleton of Fredericktown; a sister, Minnie Prance of Clarkton; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Greg Greason and Jewell Phegley officiating. Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery near Clarkton.
