GLEN ALLEN -- J.C. Slathel Shepard, 69, of Glen Allen, died Wednesday, March 15, 1995, at his home.

He was born March 1, 1926, at Kennett, son of George and Valarie Snyder Shepard. He married the former Mary Franks.

Shepard served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Michael Shepard of Marble Hill, Bill Shepard of Rolla, Ron Shepard of Festus, Frank Shepard of Glen Allen; five daughters, Sharon Wilkinson of Converse, Texas, Linda Tidall of Hillsboro, Diana Bright of Walthall, Miss., Janice Eberhardt of Cedar Hill, Carol Stojeba of Arnold; a brother, Bill Shepard of Qulin; four sisters, Loretta Deering of Kennett, Betty Crawford of Stockton, Calif., Willie Crone of Hayward, Calif., Erma Henderson of Qulin; four stepsons, William Franks of Jefferson City, Robert Franks of Eureka, James Franks of Perryville, Terry Higgs of Indiana; two stepdaughters, Martha Higgs of Indiana, Marcia Steinbrenner of Jackson; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, sister and stepdaughter.

There is no visitation or service.

Liley Funeral Home at Marble Hill is in charge of arrangements.
