SIKESTON, Mo. -- J.C. Phillips, 81, of Sikeston died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at his home.

He was born June 24,1923, in White Oak, Mo., son of Henry and Ivy Morris Phillips. He and Estelle Watson were married Oct. 25, 1941, at New Madrid, Mo.

Phillips was a farmer and a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Phillips of Bell City, Mo.; three daughters, Sue Worth of Sikeston, Kay Pressley of Fort Smith, Ark., Marsha White of Essex, Mo.; a brother, James Phillips of Granite City, Ill.; two sisters, Marie Ernest of Chicago, Rose Butler of Festus, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with Pat Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
