BELL CITY -- J.C. Matheney, 63, of Bell City, died Sunday, May 21, 1995, at his home.
He was born June 25, 1931, at Old Piketon, son of Rosie Chase. He was reared by his grandparents, Stub and Mary Matheney. He and Julie Osborne were married Nov. 28, 1981, in Warren, Mich.
Matheney was a retired police officer from Warren. He was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Advance, Bell City Rotary Club and Bell City Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, James Matheney Jr. of Warren, Robert Matheney of Advance, Richard and Russell Matheney of Detroit, Mich.; three daughters, Loretta Morrow of Roseville, Mich., Rosemary Jenkins of Centerline, Mich., Cheryl Burkhalter of Mississippi; three stepsons, Sam Patterson of Erie, Pa., Randy Patterson of Medina, Ohio, Ed Dembowski of Elyria, Ohio; five stepdaughters, Sandy Desimio of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Angie Rice of Frenchtown, Mont., Patti Daniels of Bell City, Jami Dembowski of Lakewood, Ohio, Robin Payne of Brunswick, Ohio; a brother, Edgar Lingle of Fort Mill, N.C.; a sister, Nellie Bandrow of Algonac, Mich., and 37 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and grandson.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5-9 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 8.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Full Gospel Tabernacle, with the Revs. J.D. Smith and Allen Osborne officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance.
