J.C. Lynn, 76, of South Roxana, Ill., died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
He was born Feb. 21, 1924, in Cape Girardeau County, son of William Wessie and Mabel Hager Lynn. He and Mary Margaret Schlueter were married Sept. 2, 1947, in Cape Girardeau. She died June 9, 1992.
Lynn was a truck driver with Yellow Freight Lines 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Wood River VFW Post 2859 and Wood River Moose Lodge 1349.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Ayres of Edwardsville, Ill.; four sons, Randall Lynn of Town and Country, Mo., Kenneth Lynn of Glen Carbon, Ill., John Lynn of Edwardsville, Stephen Lynn of Davenport, Iowa; two sisters, Ruby Chitty of Scott City, Mo., Elsie Caldwell of Whitewater, Mo.; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, Ill., from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
