GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Janette Watson Mayer, 63, of Grand Chain died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, at her home.

She was born Sept. 20, 1936, at Villa Ridge.

She was employed by the Shawnee Development as a homemaker. She was also a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church at Olmsted, the Mary Martha Guild and VFW Post 8891 Auxiliary at Mounds.

Survivors include her husband, Delbert Mayer of Grand Chain; two daughters, Linda Faye Chapman of Paoli, Ind., and Brenda Kay Lane of Paducah, Ky.; a son, Ernest Michael Mayer of Grand Chain; her father and stepmother, Albert and Salona Watson of Olmsted; three sisters, Erma Watson of Huntington Beach, Calif., Daisy Brown of Noble, Okla., and Martha Ann McMunn of Villa Ridge; four brothers, David Watson of Metropolis, Glenn Watson of Villa Ridge, Jim Watson of South Roxana and Lewis Watson of Olmsted; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Wilson Funeral Home at Karnak.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Luke Lutheran Church. The Revs. Carl Miller and Jim Rivett will officiate. Burial will follow at the Concord Cemetery at Olmsted.
