Janet White, daughter of the late LaRay Robbs and Kathleen Lillian Finley Taylor, was born Feb. 14, 1943, in Sikeston, Missouri, and departed this life Thursday, May 20, 2021, at the Chaffee Nursing Home in Chaffee, Missouri, at the age of 78.

Janet was a former employee of Kennedy Space Center, serving as a federal marshal, and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Eastern Star and the church choir. She enjoyed playing golf, bridge and volunteering in the community. Janet was a resident of Cape Girardeau and a former resident of Titusville, Florida.

On Sept. 3, 1961, she was united in marriage to William "Bill" White in Flagler Beach, Florida. He survives at the home in Cape Girardeau.

Besides her husband, survivors include a son, William (Brenda) White Jr. of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Deborah Kay (Stephen) Cox of Titusville; four brothers, Robert (Barbara) Taylor of Sikeston; Spencer (Linda) Taylor of Benton, Missouri; Charlie (Linda) Taylor of Sikeston; and Donald (Barbara) Taylor of Tupelo, Mississippi; four sisters, Nancy (Leroy) Holmes and Katherine (David) Eftink, both of Oran, Missouri, and Mary Jane (Leon) Eftink and Shamela (Tim) Armour, both of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren, Tammy Caepolo of Coco, Florida; William L. White III of Bellevue, Washington; Erin Markland and Alexis Markland, both of Cape Girardeau; Kelly Sue (Marc) Lowen of Ashburn, Virginia; Stephanie Cox and Amanda Cox, both of Orlando, Florida; and James Cox of Titusville; as well as eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
