BENTON, Mo. — Janet Sue Vetter, 82, of Benton died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri.
She was born Dec. 20, 1939, in New Hamburg, Missouri, daughter of Claude and Rebecca Dirnberger. She and Vernon L. Vetter were married Oct. 11, 1958, in New Hamburg. They were married for 52 years before he passed away April 14, 2011.
Janet was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, where she had been an organist for many years and was a member of The Ladies Sodality.
She is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Franklin) Glueck of New Hamburg; two sons, Jim (Christina) Vetter and Jeff Vetter, both of Benton; son-in-law, Randy Hagar of Ozark, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Rachel (David) Reeves, Adam (Jessie) Glueck, Ashley Vetter, Hannah Glueck, Ben Vetter, Brady Vetter and Caleb Vetter; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Reeves, Willa and Jude Glueck; a brother, Glen Dirnberger of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Vera (Alan) Hennemann of Benton.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Vicky Hagar; a sister, Lois Spalding; and brothers, Richard, David and Andrew Dirnberger.
Visitation was Sunday, Nov. 13, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at the church, with the Rev. Bala Swamy Govindu and Monsignor Normand Varone as concelebrants. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery in Benton.
Memorials may be made to Jesus in Disguise Food Pantry at St. Denis Catholic Church.
