Janet Sue Runge Christisen, 64, of Jackson, formerly of Perryville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at her home. Janet Sue Runge Christisen, 64, of Jackson, formerly of Perryville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at her home.

She was born Nov. 6, 1952, in Randolph County, Illinois, to Walter and Alvera Bierman Runge. She and Theodore "Ted" Christisen were married Aug. 12, 1989, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.

Janet was a 1970 graduate of Sparta High School in Sparta, Illinois. Her employment includes the former E&E Building Supply in Chester, Illinois; Buchheit in Sparta; and 27 years at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson, where she was instrumental in office management. She was looking forward to retiring in November and was hoping to travel throughout the United States.

Janet was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.

Loving survivors include her husband of 28 years, Ted Christisen of Jackson; two children, Steven (Tracy) Eggemeyer of Perryville and Stacey (Michael) Hency of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Patti Jean (Ralph) Gilliam of Fairbanks, Alaska; her mother, Alvera Runge of Walsh, Illinois; a sister, Brenda Lou Young of Steeleville, Illinois; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Runge.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 453 N. West St., Perryville, MO 63775.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
