Jane James, daughter of the late Ned and Hazel Ida Macomas Menz, was born April 13, 1933, in Randles and departed this life Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 88 years.
She loved the lord above all else. She attended Free Trinity Pentecostal Church in Randles. She taught Sunday School at First Assembly of God Church to 2 1/2- and 3-year-olds in Kankakee, Illinois. If you didn't know Jesus, she was sure to tell you about him. She was the sweetest woman you've ever known. She was the true example of love, forgiveness, warmth, kindness, patience, selflessness, and had a HUGE heart for Jesus! She radiated the Holy Spirit.
On July 12, 1949, she married Hadley James in Randles. He preceded her in death Dec. 5, 2009.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Lawrence) Story of Advance, Missouri, and Kathryn Smith of Bradley, Illinois; five grandchildren, Michael (Karrie) Whisker, Becky (John) Sherman, Jason Smith Sr., James Smith and Joshua Kezer; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Menz of Wilmington, Illinois; and one sister, Katie (Ralph) Magruder of Kankakee.
Apart from her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Joni Kezer; one son, Hank James; and two sisters, Bessie Dudley Phelps and Nora Bates.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.
Funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Don Leggett officiating. Burial will follow in Kenyon Cemetery in Delta.
