Adda Lee “Jane” Duffell Stewart, 96, daughter of the late Loranzy “Ranzy” and Lou Ella Harris Finney, was born April 17, 1925, in Amity, Clark County, Arkansas, and departed her life Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, in Jackson.
Jane was united in marriage to Sidney Duffell on Nov. 15, 1941, in New Madrid, Missouri. He preceded her in death. She later married Fred Stewart, who also preceded her in death.
She was a former employee of Woolworth’s Department Store in St. Louis and of the Pentecostal faith. Jane was a member of Daughters of American Revolution. She loved to quilt and was an avid gardener. She loved to can the vegetables grown in her garden.
Survivors include one son, Larry (Phyllis) Duffell of Thebes, Illinois; four daughters, Yvonne Mitchell (the late Mickey) Carter of Ozark, Missouri; Darlene (John) Kleyer of Athens, Alabama; Diane Duffell of Jackson; and Genice (Gary) Eck of Bella Vista, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husbands and parents, Jane was preceded in death by three brothers, Jesse Finney, Clyde “Bob” Finney and Author Fay Finney; and three sisters, Allie Jane Burnett, Ola Diggs and Thelma Heffington.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the New Morley (Missouri) Cemetery.
