CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Jane Davis, 89, of Chaffee died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Chaffee Nursing Center. She was born Jan. 11, 1912, at Ellsinore, Mo., daughter of Russell and Louisa Elzina Watson Hester. She and Edgar Davis were married Dec. 26, 1936. He died in January 1938...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Jane Davis, 89, of Chaffee died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born Jan. 11, 1912, at Ellsinore, Mo., daughter of Russell and Louisa Elzina Watson Hester. She and Edgar Davis were married Dec. 26, 1936. He died in January 1938.

Davis was a seamstress at Ely Walker Co. 35 years, retiring in 1977.

Survivors include a son, Harland Davis of Scott City, Mo., and a sister, Laura "Ina" Hopper of Commerce, Mo.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mike Hannah officiating. Burial will be in Kenyon Cemetery at Delta, Mo.
