Jane Basinger, 88, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at the home of her daughter in St. Louis. She was born June 22, 1929, in New Madrid County, Missouri, to James and Mayme Carson Underwood. She and James W. Basinger were married May 8, 1953, in Piggott, Arkansas. They had been married 25 years, when James passed away Oct. 8, 1978...

Jane Basinger, 88, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at the home of her daughter in St. Louis.

She was born June 22, 1929, in New Madrid County, Missouri, to James and Mayme Carson Underwood. She and James W. Basinger were married May 8, 1953, in Piggott, Arkansas. They had been married 25 years, when James passed away Oct. 8, 1978.

In 1963 the Basinger family moved from Little Rock, Arkansas, to Jackson, where Jane was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She worked several years as a designer for Dalton Florist in Jackson.

To cherish her memory, Jane leaves a daughter, Renee Robinson; two grandchildren, Valera and Michael; and nieces, nephews and friends. She was loved and will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Eric Longman officiating. Graveside committal will be at approximately 2:45 p.m. Monday at Portageville City Cemetery in Portageville, Missouri.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Concordia Guild of St. Paul Lutheran Church or St. Paul Lutheran School.

Arrangements were by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
