James Richard Wink, 78, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at Jackson Manor.
He was born March 6, 1940, in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Milo Dale and Mildred Doris Eilers Wink.
Jim had been a food broker. He took pride in his job, and through the years made many friends and was respected by all who worked with him.
Jim was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ; he was a church council member. He was also a former member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriners member. He had many hobbies, including farming, collecting antique tractors, golf, playing cards and traveling to Texas for the winter months. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughters and their families.
Jim and Beverly Jean Fairbanks were united in marriage Oct. 2, 1960, in Anamosa, Iowa, and she survives of the home.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Wink of Jackson; two daughters, Kristine (Bill) Glueck of Jackson and Brenda Clary of Jackson; two brothers, Ron (Mary) Wink of Monticello and Lavern "Bud" (Phuong) Wink of Stockton, California; a sister-in-law, Janet Wink of Prairie City, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Beth (Scott) Mangels, Joe Glueck, Jeremy (Amanda) Kelley, Denny (Chelsey Kight) Kelley, Caleb (Lauren Pullen) Glueck, Jessica (Justin) Biester, Rebekah Clary and Brad Clary; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathy Wink; great-granddaughter, Abigail Clary; brother, Charles Wink; and nephew, Dennis Fairbanks.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Church of Christ in Fruitland.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with Dr. Rodney Pensel officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or a charity of choice.
