BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- James "Junior" Gandy Wade Jr., 84, of Bloomfield passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family. BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- James "Junior" Gandy Wade Jr., 84, of Bloomfield passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born April 15, 1935, in Hayti, Missouri, the son of James and Sarah Hobbs Wade Sr. Junior and Ilene Wheetley were united in marriage Nov. 14, 1953, at Zalma, Missouri, and she survives of the home.

Junior worked for the Mississippi Highway Department for 25 years. He was also a minister at the Sturdivant (Missouri) General Baptist Church. He was a man of deep faith. His church and family were always No. 1 in his life.

Along with his wife, loving survivors include four sons, Daryl Wade of Sikeston, Missouri, David Wade and Larry Wade, both of Advance, Missouri, and Craig Wade of Bloomfield; two daughters, Sue Holder of Advance and Barbara Chiles of West Plains, Missouri; two sisters, Robbie Napier of De Soto, Missouri, and Shirley Owens of Chaffee, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Wade; a sister, Elmedia Napier; and two great-grandchildren..

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. David Gargus and Gary Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
