DEXTER, Mo. -- James "Jim" Triplett, son of the late Cecil and Evelyn Eaton Triplett, was born Aug. 12, 1935, in Essex, Missouri, and departed this life Monday, March 21, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 80. Triplett was a resident of Dexter and was a self-employed farmer. He loved to go camping, playing golf and spending time with his grandsons. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard...

DEXTER, Mo. -- James "Jim" Triplett, son of the late Cecil and Evelyn Eaton Triplett, was born Aug. 12, 1935, in Essex, Missouri, and departed this life Monday, March 21, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 80.

Triplett was a resident of Dexter and was a self-employed farmer. He loved to go camping, playing golf and spending time with his grandsons. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.

On Nov. 19, 1960, he was united in marriage to Helen Lawrence in Dexter. She survives at their home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kathy Lambdin of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons, Matthew Lambdin and wife Leni Fluegge of Jonesboro, Illinois, Eric Lambdin and wife Malori Loker of Wolf Lake, Illinois, and Aaron Lambdin of Wolf Lake; two great-grandchildren, Emma Lambdin and Clara Lambdin; a brother, Melvin Triplett of Dexter; and two sisters, Jo Ann Freeman of St. Louis and Janet Viau of St. Charles, Missouri.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Nite officiating. Interment will be in Dexter Cemetery.
