MATTHEWS, Mo. -- James H. "Cub" Tidwell, 67, of Matthews died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born July 29, 1937, in Fayette County, Ala., son of Bersie and Clara Tucker Tidwell. He married Ollie McCormick, who died in 1978. He later married Elizabeth Vandiver Scott Nov. 21, 1980.
Tidwell was a retired farm laborer and attended First Baptist Church in Canalou, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Jamie Scott of Portageville, Mo., Sgt. 1st Class Bradley Scott of Fort Monroe, Va.; two brothers, Roy Tidwell of Oran, Mo., Gene Tidwell of Canalou; seven sisters, Ann Evans and Bonnie Ditto of Oran, Marty Holt of Blodgett, Mo., Donna Tidwell and Hassie Sweet of Bertrand, Mo., Faye Krauss of East Prairie, Mo., Charmain Vanryswyck of Albert Lee, Minn.; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dewayne Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.
