DONGOLA, Ill. -- James C. "Red" Swink, 58, of Dongola died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at his home.
He was born April 18, 1943, at Buncombe, Ill., son of Claude A. and Etta L. Smith Swink. He and Donna Childers were married Nov. 9, 1967, in Jonesboro, Ill.
Swink was a construction worker. He was a member of Gospel Kingdom Pentecostal Church and Laborers Local 773.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, LaDonna Basler of Anna, Ill., Lisa Basler of Herrin, Ill., Laura Patterson of Marion, Ill.; four sons, Larry McKee of Dongola, Tony Winsor of Marion, Kerry Treece of Perks, Ill., Ronald Swink of Cape Girardeau; his mother, Etta Hancock of St. Louis; three sisters, Alice Casper of Dongola, Peggy Wright of Jonesboro, Linda Falkner of Tunnel Hill, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, a son and three brothers.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
