SIKESTON -- James Earl Stinnett, 62, of Sikeston died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 31, 1934, in Kobel, Tenn., son of Ernest and Cleone Lynch Stinnett. He and Ruth Diane McIlroy were married April 7, 1956, in Hernando, Miss.
Stinnett was co-owner of Stinnett and Burrows Service and Repair. He moved to Sikeston 21 years ago from Charleston. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James Jr. and Timothy Stinnett of Sikeston; four brothers, William Stinnett of House Springs, Donald and Robert Stinnett of East Prairie, David Stinnett of Springfield, Ill.; seven sisters, Joyce Hinchey of Festus, Oneida Boatwright of Arnold, Francis Sims of Ward, Ark., Sue Adank of Tallahassee, Fla., Wanda McDermott, Janie Bowles and Eileen Burpo of Charleston; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Graveside service will be at 11 p.m. Friday in Armer Cemetery near Bertrand, with Gordon Adank officiating.
