JAMES SHIVERDECK

GRASSY -- James Abner Shiverdeck, 90, of Grassy died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998, at his home.

He was born April 7, 1908, at Cascade, son of James W. "Bud" and Christina Swezzy Shiverdeck. He and Winnie H. Talley were married May 4, 1934. She died Feb. 3, 1997.

Shiverdeck was a retired farmer and timber worker. He attended Grassy Friendship General Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Joe Shiverdeck of Iberia, Bill Shiverdeck of Imperial, Leland Shiverdeck of Grassy, Charles Shiverdeck of Festus, Carl Shiverdeck of Cahokia, Ill.; two daughters, Nina Eichelberger of Afton, Ruth Barnes of Grassy; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers, three sisters, two grandsons, and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Church, with the Rev. Gene Robbins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
