CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral mass for James S. Harrison III of Cape Girardeau will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Vincent's Catholic Church here. The Rev. Art Basler will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Harrison died Thursday in a work-related accident at Pleasant Hill, Mo. He was 49.
He was born Aug. 4, 1941 in St. Louis, the son of James S. Harrison Jr. and Margaret Frech Harrison. On Aug. 8, 1964, he married the former Marilyn Marshall in Belleville, Ill. She survives.
He moved to Cape Girardeau from St. Louis in 1968, where he worked in the trucking industry in sales and as a driver.
He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, St. Vincent's Men's Club and the Knights of Columbus Council #1111 in Cape Girardeau.
Other survivors include his mother, Margaret, of St. Louis; three daughters, Jamie Whitte and Jodi Harrison, both of St. Louis and Kelli Harrison of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Virginia Harrison and Margaret McKim Harrison, both of St. Louis, and Adele Neumann of Miami, Fla.
Friends may call from 4-8:30 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where parish prayers are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 8 p.m.
