BLOOMFIELD -- James Roy Harris, 79, died at Martin Hills Retirement Home near Bloomfield Friday, Oct. 7, 1994.
He was born March 18, 1915 at Advance, son of John W. and Bertie Simms Harris.
He married Amelia Vogel in 1956. She preceded him in death in January of 1978.
Harris lived in Detroit, Mich. a number of years before moving to Oran in 1972. He had been a resident at Martin Hills 10 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served three years on the European Front during World War II.
Survivors include a brother, Floyd Harris, Dexter.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
Service will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Rick Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
Friends may call at funeral home prior to the service.
