James "Jim" W. Rohde, 71, returned to his heavenly home Monday, April 16, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
Jim was born Nov. 30, 1946, to the late Robert and Grace Thompson Rohde in St. Louis.
He enjoyed a lifelong love of learning, which led to him attaining a graduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1996. He worked as a counselor in the Cape Girardeau area.
He attended Cape First Church and was actively involved in their men's small group. Jim pursued many interests throughout life, including music, photography, art and computers.
Jim is survived by a brother, Michael F. Rohde of West Lake Village, California, as well as his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Andy Garner, and two grandsons, Drew and Ben.
Jim's visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Mark Graham officiating.
