DONIPHAN, Mo. -- James William Riley, 54, of Doniphan died Sunday, July 16, 2000. He was born March 24, 1946, in Mississippi County, son of George D. and Rosie E. Cogdill. He and Bonnie Abernathy were married May 16, 1964. Riley lived in Doniphan most of his life. He retired as a janitor at Ripley County Courthouse. DONIPHAN, Mo. -- James William Riley, 54, of Doniphan died Sunday, July 16, 2000.

He was born March 24, 1946, in Mississippi County, son of George D. and Rosie E. Cogdill. He and Bonnie Abernathy were married May 16, 1964.

Riley lived in Doniphan most of his life. He retired as a janitor at Ripley County Courthouse. He was a member of the Church of God and Ripley County Emergency Management.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Clarence Riley of Doniphan; a daughter, Yvonne Stadler of Doniphan; a brother, Delbert Riley of St. Augustine, Fla.; and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Mo., after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pete Morton officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
