ULLIN, Ill. -- James P. "Jim" Rarrick, 68, of Ullin died Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997, at his home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1929, at Barlow, Ky., the son of Maurice and Opal Horn Rarrick. He married Evelyn McHarry on July 31, 1954.
He was a member of Caledonia Lodge 47 AF & AM of Pulaski, where he served as Worshipful Master. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and served as a trustee for the village of Ullin Board and as a member of the Ullin Fire Department. He was a member of the Ullin Church of God and the Ullin Civic Club. Earlier in life he had worked as a bus driver for the Ullin School and was known as "Maverick to the students. He retired in June 1991 from Ford Motor Co.'s Woodhaven Stamping Plant, where he worked in skilled trades for more than 20 years and was a member of U.A.W. Local 387.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Dale Rarrick, James N. Rarrick and Mark P. Rarrick, all of Ullin, and Larry Rarrick of Pontiac, Mich.; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Sunday at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, with Masonic services at 8:30 by Caledonia Lodge AF & AM.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Bishop officiating. Interment will be at Ullin Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 4455.
