EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for James R. Williamson of Dyersburg, Tenn., formerly of East Prairie, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 8:30 a.m. today, and on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until service time.

Williamson, 61, died Sunday, June 14, 1992, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., following a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Flint, Mich., son of Richard C. and Merrible McDougal Williamson. He married the former Mary E. Woods.

Williamson formerly owned and operated Ozark and Mo. Tire Company in Potosi and St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, James Williamson Jr. of Hillsboro, Eric Pyles of Dyersburg, Christopher Pyles of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; three daughters, Sherry McKee and Jill Abears of Flint, Pamela Williamson of Davison, Mich.; his mother of Flint; three brothers, Dick Williamson of Arkansas, Donald and Johnny Williamson of Flint; four sisters, Rose Townsend and Sue Locke of Flint, Nancy Kelly of Hopewell, Va., Pat Sclater of Grand Blanc, Mich., and two granddaughters.
