VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- James Paul "Bud" Johnson, 68, of Villa Ridge, formerly of Cairo, died Monday, June 19, 1995, at his home.
He was born May 20, 1927, in Cairo to Edgar and Grace Astin Johnson.
He married the former Maxine Isom Oct. 11, 1947, in Ullin. She survives.
Johnson retired after 25 years in the maintenance department of Waterfront Services in Cairo.
He attended the Villa Ridge Union Church, was a Korean War veteran, a member of the Alexander-Pulaski County Sportman's Club, past commander and lifetime member of VFW Post 8891, and was a member of American Legion Post 179. He was a York Rite Mason of the Caledonia Masonic Lodge 47, AF&AM; Eastern Star Chapter 587; Royal Arch Masons; Knights Templar; Ainad Shrine Temple and the Kim Shrine Club of Cairo.
Other survivors are twin daughters, Linda Lou Dunaway of Hickman, Ky., and Brenda Sue Mcislohn of Fulton, Ky.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home at Villa Ridge. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday by members of the Caledonia lodge.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Mound City with full military honors.
