James Moore
MARBLE HILL, Mo. — James R. Moore, 92, of Marble Hill died Friday, July 4, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 23, 1915, in Glenallen, Mo., son of Clellie and Eulalie Robertson Moore.
He and Hazel L. Sitze were married July 29, 1935, in St. Louis.
He was a self-employed broom-maker for the Marble Hill Broom Co. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a charter member of the Bollinger County Eagles 4473.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Houston of Marble Hill and Sylvia "B" Jordan of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, two sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Dr. John Englehart officiating. Interment will be in New Trace Creek Cemetery.
