EAST PRAIRIE -- James R. Miller, 75, of East Prairie died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at Veterans Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
He was born Sept. 18, 1922, in Ridgely, Tenn., son of Nathan and Lona M. Henderson Miller. He and Mary E. Brewer were married March 15, 1946.
Miller was a retired farmer and member of Nelson United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Sammy Miller of East Prairie; a brother, L.T. Miller of East Prairie; three sisters, Cora Hall of East Prairie, Francis Niewglowski of Ballwin, Ill., Pansy Duckworth of Center; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, six brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carl Cox officiating.
