EAST PRAIRIE -- James Milam Irby, 83, of East Prairie died Tuesday, March 5, 1996, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
He was born Feb. 20, 1913, in East Prairie, son of Jim and Kate Milam Irby.
He lived his entire live in East Prairie. He was a retired schools driver for the R-2 School District and a member of St. James General Baptist Church.
On Sept. 23, 1932, he married Lillie May Jones. She died Jan. 14, 1996.
He is survived by one son, J.C. Irby of East Prairie; one brother, Howard Irby of East Prairie; one sister, Lucille Hager of St. Louis; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers and one sister.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Service will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Shelby Chapel with Stanley Triplet, pastor of the Big Ridge Baptist Church of Charter Oak, Mo., officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery near Charleston.
