BERNIE, Mo. -- James Eugene "Gene" Mason, 60, of Bernie died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at John J. Pershing Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born Aug. 13, 1941, at Bernie, son of Lawrence Eugene and Edith Opal Fields Mason.
Mason was the owner and operator of Mason's TV Service in Bernie and was a veteran of the Marine Corps during Vietnam.
Survivors include one son, James Michael Mason of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Kelly Marie Lynn Mason of Dexter, Mo.; two brothers, Jim Mason of Bernie and L. C. Mason of Powe, Mo.; six sisters, Mildred Hampton of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Eva Tipton, of Bernie, Alma Pospeshell, of Lipan, Texas, Anglie Barnes of Bernie, Wilma Burch of Wappapello, Mo., and Linda Ann O'Daniel of Bloomfield, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Rainey Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Joe Masters will officiate with burial in Bernie Cemetery.
