SIKESTON - James E. "Punch" Marcy, Sr., 71, of Sikeston, Rt. 3, died Thursday, April 21, at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born April 13, 1923, in Atoka, Tenn., to Willie Lee and Fronie Elizabeth Marcy.

On April 27, 1969, Marcy married Minnie Ramsey in Sikeston. She survives of the home in Sikeston. Other survivors include one son, Jim Ramsey of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Beatrice Tully of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; one step-daughter, Mary Ellen Johnson of Sikeston;

Two brothers, Dick Marcy of Millington, Tenn. and Jack Marcy of Atoka, Tenn.; three sisters, Elsie Sanders of Bartlett, Tenn., Pheba Pairmore of Drummonds, Tenn., and Mary Simmons of Cedar Grove, Tenn. Five grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.

Marcy was preceded in death by one brother.

Marcy was a professional truck driver for 24 years for McKnight-Keaton Wholsale Grocers, Inc., and the Scott County Milling Co., both of Sikeston. He also worked for Potlatch Dairy Products in Sikeston. Marcy was of the Pentecostal faith.

Friends may call after 5 p.m., today, at the Nunnelee Funeral Home in Sikeston. Funeral services will be held Sunday, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, with the Rev. Charles Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
