FARMINGTON, Mo. — James L. Lewis, 62, of Farmington died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1946, at Bonne Terre, Mo., son of John Frederick and Le Ann R. Chapman Lewis IV.
Lewis was a farmer and of the Baptist belief. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Constance May Loughrige Lewis; his parents of Fredericktown, Mo.; a son, James L. (Alev) Lewis II of San Diego; two daughters, Cynthia (Travis) Vogelsang of Jackson, Jacqueline Lewis of Farmington; a sister, Sandra Ann Lewis-Johnson of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren, Geoffrey Myers and Holdyn Vogelsang.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Frederick "Johnny" Lewis, and a brother-in-law, Thomas Johnson.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Cozean Memorial Chapel in Farmington.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. James Lacey officiating. Burial will be in Libertyville Christian Cemetery with military honors conducted.
