James Robert Lee, 76, of Scott City passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at his home in the company of family and friends. James Robert Lee, 76, of Scott City passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at his home in the company of family and friends.

He was born Feb. 10, 1939, in Swinton, Missouri, to James Robert "Jimmie" and Sylvia Helen Morris Lee. He married Mary Jane Held on April 24, 1965, at St. Joseph Church in Scott City.

He was a retired truck driver and had worked for Spalding Trucking, Southeast Stone, Valley Steel Products and Gilster-Mary Lee.

He served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964 and received an honorable discharge.

He took pride in having a well-manicured lawn and the cleanest semi-truck around. He had a smile that could brighten a room and a laugh like no other.

His wife, daughters, grandkids and great-grandkids were the loves of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kim (Rick) Dennis, Rhonda (Jamie) Weber and Kristi (Dan) Watson; three grandchildren, Joshua Dennis, Amanda Thomas and Jordan Weber; two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Olivia Thomas; a sister, Jackie Lee; and many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.

A memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating.

Memorials may be given to Southeast Hospice.
